Can you see the ball drop live (not on TV) from there?
Is it worth paying the extra for VIP tickets to the 4th floor?
Is the Hard Rock better?Has anyone been to Planet Hollywood, Times Square, New York for New Years Eve?
I've never been inside of Planet Hollywood, but I've walked by it countless times and I was in Times Square to see the ball drop last year. I'm not familiar with their VIP section or anything, but you'd probably have a somewhat decent view of the ball. You'd probably have to be pressed up against the window and look down the street to see it from there--as that restaurant doesn't have a direct view of the ball.
I'm not sure if you'd be able to see it any better than Hard Rock. They both have similar viewpoints.Has anyone been to Planet Hollywood, Times Square, New York for New Years Eve?
As a New Yorker I want to stay as far away from that tourist trap as possible. Save yourself time,$ and a headache. Invite friends to your place and watch it on tv.Has anyone been to Planet Hollywood, Times Square, New York for New Years Eve?
a few years ago i was able to see the ball drop from the roof of one of the buildings in times square because my friends husband works there as a security guard and they had a big party i gotta tell you i liked it but it was intimate there was around 50 to 100 people and it was great but i definetely would not go down to the street and be there for hours in the cold waiting for a ball to fall i would rather stay in a house with friends and see it on tv.Has anyone been to Planet Hollywood, Times Square, New York for New Years Eve?
it is worth going to NYC on NYE solely for the experience. don't expect at ALL to get a really nice, comfy, warm view of the ball dropping and Ryan Seacrest doing the countdown as if you were in your bed watching the event. there is alot of random drunks, rowdy as* people who don't care about your safety or the ball dropping. a friend of mine was standing outside on the street where MTV does their special from and some nasty guy grabbed one of her tit*ties really hard and twisted it. planet Hollywood has good burgers NYE might be safer inside there. have fun.
