I have never asked for a room upgrade in Vegas b/f, but I see tons of individuals in hotel reviews talk about how their rooms were upgraded during their stay, just wondering if they do that for free, when the hotel is not full, or do they charge you for it if you ask. My trip is from Memorial Day May 28-31 don't know if Vegas is busy during that week or not!!! Any other Vegas tips will help as well!!! Thanks to everyone that repliesIs Planet Hollywood Hotel/Casino (Alladin) usually good about upgrading your room for free if you ask them to?
The $20 trick worked very well at the Aladdin. I can only assume that it would at Planet Hollywood.
From May 28th until June 1st is an extremely slow period for Las Vegas. Which is to your advantage, they can't upgrade you to something they don't have.
How to go about asking.
Have the $20 visible in your left hand as you hand the clerk your CC %26amp; ID with your right. Ask if there are any "complimentary" upgrades available. He/she will tell you "I can't do that or It will cost you $$" in which case you can either forget it or pony up the difference. Or he/she will say "let me take a look" in which case you're probably in luck. It's a very good idea to know a little about the hotel %26amp; what upgrades they have and what upgrade you're most interested in.
A room with a view of the Bellagio Fountains is a very nice upgrade, at Planet Hollywood.
When he/she hands you the room key to your upgrade, then you tell him/her "thank you very much" and give them the $20 handshake.
The main thing is, just be nice and let them do you a favor.
