First trip to vegas, what to do where to stay??

I just turned 21 and am planning on going to Las Vegas for the first time in March. What are some things to see out there for someone whos never been? What are the best places to stay? I've narrowed it down to Planet Hollywood, Bellagio, or Thehotel at Mandalay? Which of these would be best? ThanksFirst trip to vegas, what to do where to stay??
As for the best place to stay out of the places that you have narrowed down to - I would suggest TheHotel at Mandalay bay since it tends to have a slightly younger crowd than Bellagio, less pricey for everyday stuff like eating and is still VERY nice and the rooms are superior compared to Planet Hollywood. Bellagio is a very close second, since the hotel is a little nicer and has nicer restaurants. Plus the pool at Mandalay Bay has a wave machine which creates large waves in the pool - that pool rocks!

Here are a few places and things I LOVE to do while in vegas:

1. Drink at clubs and lounges - RAIN (PALMS casino) and PURE (Caesar's Palace) are amongst the best two clubs with the best dance floors, decor, and setup. There is also Tao (Venetian) and Tangerine (Treasure Island) which havea a great atmosphere. Tabu (MGM Grand) and Rum Jungle (Mandalay Bay) are great lounges to just hang out in and drink at. Lastly, the Voodoo Lounge a top of the Rio is a GREAT bar with a breathtaking view of the city and vegas skyline.

2. If you're into rides, then the roller coaster at NEWYORK NEWYORK casino is the best roller coaster in Vegas. There is also the Big Shot and INSANITY rides atop of the Stratosphere Casino (with the best views in the city, as good as a helicopter view). There are also rides at Circus Circus and Sahara, but they are a little more for kids, but still fun.

3. Eat at buffets and other great restaurants. Buffets like Bellagio's or Wynn's have trancended the common buffet of stale food. They serve gourmet dishes like Kobe beef and hand made desserts. Great food, good service, clean and fun atmosphere. You'll definately enjoy this. There are also mediocre, but good deal buffets at Luxor, MGM Grand, and Monte Carlo.

4. Watch the sunrise by staying up all night and partying and then seeing the drunks and broke gamblers barely make it back to their hotel rooms in the early morning. It is the quietiest time in Vegas, and a little relaxing. You can really see how Vegas can ruin you for those that you see are completely distraught over losing - but its a good way to keep your sanity while you there.

5. Go swimming and treat yourself to a massage. This will be fun. When you get out of the pool, you can feel the heat radiating on your back and your feet will feel warmer than getting out of the pool anywhere else. It feels good, and then getting a massage later will be the perfect way to settle into a fun night. Something about swimming in the heat as the sun is going down in the Vegas desert is relaxing and calming. This will cost little to nothing.

6. You can shop at the FORUM in Caesar's Palace or the Passage at the Hollywood Planet Casino. They have the widest selection and the nicest shops. There is, of course, the Las Vegas Premium Outlets just off the strip that any taxi can take you to - good deals there!

7. You can watch the fountains at Bellagio, the Fremont Street Light Show in downtown, the SIRENS at Treasure Island (which is a fairly GOOD show that is FREE) and catch a Cirque Du Soleil show (such as KA at MGM Grand or 'O' at Bellagio - those are my favorite). Just enjoy yourself and have fun, dont plan out every little thing.First trip to vegas, what to do where to stay??
i loveee mandalay bay, soo beautiful! we're going to have our big wedding there. lol well do you like to sight see? cause if so go to MGM see the lions, THE MIRAGE see the tigers, they even have a zoo in the back w/dolphins, my kids loved it. i think its called shark bay at Mandalay that was fun for me an my hubby. go to TREASURE ISLAND and watch the pirate show. the water light show at BELLAGIO the volcano... ask the hotel where you stay at if they have a list/ schedule of things and times. they should.theres so many things to do out there i love it! i never get tired of seeing the same stuff over an over. have fun!!!
If i were you i would stay at THE HOTEL at Mandalay Bay. It is a very nice hotel i have stayed there twice this year so far once for my 21st and then a baccalaureate party. The rooms are very big we had at least 8 or 9 full grown adults in the room and still had a lot of space. I would definitely see all the casinos on the strip and planet Hollywood the Rio and the palms. I would not go to circus circus. But remember just Have as much fun as you can.First trip to vegas, what to do where to stay??
Mandalay is really nice but i reckon if you want to get out and explore VEGAS Bellagio should be your choice its more centrally located. For things to see and do try the links below
First trip to vegas, what to do where to stay??
just turned 21? try the hardrock or the palms for the young set.
I would stay at Planet Hollywood, it is fairly new, and in the middle of the strip, also has the mile mall attached to it. Bellagio is sort of across the street, so that wouldn't be bad either but the Bellagio is more expensive. Mandalay Bay is beautiful but it unfortunately is at the end of the strip and it is a very long walk to many of the other casinos. I made my first trip to Vegas last summer. I would suggest trying to go to all the casinos and walking around and playing at other casinos. We went to MGM and saw the lions, we went to Bellagio to see the gardens, we went to Caesars, NY NY, watched the fountains at the Bellagio, went over to Treasure Island to see the show, etc. There are also lots of clubs you can go check out too. It was a fun time and I can't wait to go back again.
Since you are 21, you'll enjoy Planet Hollywood since there is a younger crowd there. Its across the street from the Bellagio and its an easy walk to a lot of other casinos and hot spots. The Bellagio is awesome, but it is more expensive and the crowd is older, but the clubs are rocking. Thehotel at Mandalay is also an older crowd, Mandalay Bay is awesome, but its at the end of the strip and you'll have to cab it around or take a bus or tram to Excalibur and walk. Planet Hollywood is more toward the center of the strip and its easier access. Any choices are great!

You need to see the Bellagio fountain show, the top of the Stratosphere tower at night, the sirens show at TI (its free),

the white tigers at the Mirage. Make sure you hit a buffet and a club for the ultimate Vegas experience!
Yet another vote for Mandalay Bay the pool area is fantastic.Take the tram to four corners and hang out at New York New York and MGM Grand. If you want to take a break from the action you can hike at Valley of fire State Park about 45 minutes away. Go early and take plenty of water.
I would choose the Bellagio. It's so beautiful. Another one I would stay at is Paris. Check out cheapovegas.com and it will give you the pros and cons of each place.
