Family friendly places to eat in Hollywood?

My family (11 year-old boy and Grand Parents) will be in Hollywood taking the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, then we will be visiting Graumann's Chinese Theatre. We are looking for a place to eat that hopefully has some "Old Hollywood" signifigance, i.e. Brown Derby not Planet Hollywood. Thanks!Family friendly places to eat in Hollywood?

For the Hollywood feel, I would highly recommend:



1. Mel's Diner near the southeast corner of Hollywood and Highland, next to the Hollywood Museun [formerly the Max Factor Museum], with its American Graffiti theme;



2. Miceli's Italian Restaurant ["L.A.'s Oldest Italian Restaurant"] on the eastside of Las Palmas, just south of Hollywood Boulevard, with its wonderful 1935's scenery and live piano bar; and,



3. Lucky Devils Retro-Cafe [6613 Hollywood Blvd.] on the northside of Hollywood Boulevard between Whitley and Hudson Avenues which serves the very best healthy organic fare surrounded by wall-to-wall LCD tv's.



For central parking, visit the city parking lot on the southeast corner of Cherokee and Yucca, a block north of Hollywood on Cherokee and you can walk to all of these recommended eateries.

Just about any place will be family friendly since it is a tourist area. About one of the more nostalgic restaurants is Musso and Franks along Hollywood Blvd (closed Sundays) although service is rather slow. A short drive to Canters Deli along Fairfax is also famous. For some junk food, Pinks (mostly hot dogs) along La Brea near Santa Monica is hole in the wall shop where it is not surprising to see a stretch limo stop and either the celeb or the driver get out to place an order. It's been around for ages and is the only place that has free attended parking. Try their bacon-burrito dog or pastrami burrito dog or polish sausage burrito dog. Be sure to eat in to see the pictures of some of its patrons. I forget the name of it but there is a "soda fountain" restaurant modeled after one that discovered several old time starlets on Vine just north of Sunset. If you are less prone to nostalgia and more towards choices, the Kodak / Chinese theater complex has several restaurants of moderate to upper scale level. It is next to the Chinese theater. Another location is at Universals City Walk located next to Universal Studios. Family friendly places to eat in Hollywood?
