Is the Planet Hollywood resort, Las Vegas, ok for families?

I work in the hotel but not for the hotel. (Planet Hollywood) Its all new and is more geared for the younger set but not the kid set. There are other hotels with more of a kid friendly atmosphere, Circus-circus, Excalibur, etc.

The hotel is all new, and with all the time share people, and the constant messages in the rooms, and all the other ways the hotel is trying to make money, you might be better off looking at a more kid friendly hotel. Is the Planet Hollywood resort, Las Vegas, ok for families?
If your kids are 16 or so then Planet Hollywood would be okay. Not my first choice, for hotels in that(4 star) category, but okay.

If you have younger kids, I prefer.

Or - Excalibur

Circus Circus is okay to visit, but I do not recommend staying there.

Las Vegas itself is NOT ok for families!

Leave the kids home or go somewhere else.Is the Planet Hollywood resort, Las Vegas, ok for families?
I don't know what your standards are as in "ok for families", but I will tell you that I found all of Las Vegas inappropriate for families.

When I was still married to my ex, one of the last "family" vacations we took was to Arizona, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas. It was the tail end of a business trip for him and supposed to help us reconnect as a couple and family. We stayed at the MGM Grand, which at the time had an amusement park and water park on site and was billed as a family place.

I had been to the "boats" in Louisiana before, and I assumed that the gambling would be similar to that and partitioned so that only 21 and over would be allowed in that part. Wrong I was--the slots and machines were everywhere! In the airport, in the hotel lobby, in restaurants; you couldn't get away from them. Kids aren't supposed to be standing around them or using them, but you have to walk by them to get anywhere. It was hard to keep my son who loves video games and even my baby daughter who was attracted to the noise and lights away from them.

Then, about the 4th or 5th time we saw cross-dressers in public and the kids were staring, I really knew it was time to go home.

Maybe I'm just a prude, but I saw nothing family-oriented in the whole town.Is the Planet Hollywood resort, Las Vegas, ok for families?
