We always save the world in American films, notice, not in French films, or in Chinese films. Most of the time in movies concerning saving the world, the nationality of the bulk of the filmmakers is that which saves the world. If you're going to show a film in the majority of America, that's what Americans want to see.
Because they are American films, written and made for Americans. Other countries do the same thing with their movies. not to offend anyone but the Hollywood liberals think they are all that. They have the mindset they can save the would with their agenda. but you also have to examine the fact that even tho fiction some hint of realism must be installed. I doubt Iran has the ability to even reach outer space let alone land on an asteroid. but think about the movie Armageddon... it was a cooperation of USA and Russian cosmonaut that saved the day. and again Independence day, sure it was the USA who discovered the weakness but it was a world wide effort that saved the day.

The Soviet Union did nothing to win WW2 other than to throw people at the germans while the American %26amp; Brits did real strategic damage. The USSR was really good at killing its own citizens....a core competence of Stalin.
The germans don't even think they lost it today relative to their attmept to control the EU to their own benefit.

As for Korea and Viet Nam. You are correct. We did give up because the rest of the world felt they should just standby and watch versus particpate in allowing people to live in relative freedom. Look at the two governments today. N. Korea and Viet Nam are still intimidating its citizenry while you get to write ridiculous opinions in Yahoo.
Same thing in Iraq. People from countries that want to standby and watch while dictators kill indiscriminantly are just pussy's.
America would still come to your aid if it was needed. But I wouldn't.
They can never save the world,the only thing that the rulers of this nation know is that to trial its newly invented missiles and weapons by using it in other countries in the name of fighting terrorism.Putting agreement with other countries if they come to know that particular country is becoming a major power.

The same reason the UK saves the day in UK films, French save the day in French films, China saves the day in Chinese films. Russia saves the day on Russia films. People pay to see who they consider the "good guys" win. America just makes more films. The films come out of Hollywood not the White house. Some are fiction, fact and fact based. I'd suggest you watch films that have your "good guys" winning. It will cause you less stress.
