The Planetarium is unique and completely unobjectionable. Madame Tussauds is OK as long as you haven't got loads of attention-seeking mates who insist on squealing in the dungeon bit. Free stuff - I love the museums, but that's just me. Walking on the Embankment is cool. HMS Belfast is fascinating, if you like ships, steel and small places.

3 single guys travelling to Las Vegas from Australia,?
any suggestions on the nightlife? We are staying at Planet Hollywood from the 1st April-7th April.3 single guys travelling to Las Vegas from Australia,?
Be sure to visit the "old strip" or Fremont Street ... it's a really cool experience! You'll have to take a cab there if you're staying on/near the strip, but it's definitely worth it. There are many older casinos with very cheap (big) drinks + good gambling tables (some $2 blackjack). A couple blocks of Fremont Street are covered and every 15 minutes or so a laser light show to music plays -- it's really neat to watch!
Make sure you walk the strip and go through the major casinos. There are usually free shows or something to see at each.
You might want to take in a truly Las Vegas type show (you know, with the mostly naked ladies strutting around)....we went to one, and it was actually pretty good! Comedy shows are also big, as are magic shows. You should be able to get information on shows from the hotel/casino you are staying in.3 single guys travelling to Las Vegas from Australia,?

A group of 3, two girls and a gay guy, all single and 28 are looking for a place to stay in Vegas in July. We are wanting either the Luxor, MGM, or Planet Hollywood. The rooms we are looking at are all about the same price, we just want to know which would be best for all their amentities, location, customer service, comping, etc.Where should we stay in Las Vegas?

Try finding unique things in New York: the museums, the parks, the neighborhoods, etc. One fun thing to do is walk the entire length of 5th avenue (up to about 90th street, it starts to get a bit more dangerous after that). These aren't really fun attractions except the Ripley's museum. Museums like the Museum of Natural history, MoMa, Metropolitan museum of art and so forth are amazing and far better than these run of the mill tourist attractions.

Well, the problem is that Uchuu Senkan Yamato is too Japanese.
The name and word "Yamato" itself is synonymous with "Japan".
Hollywood doing Yamato will be the equivalent of a Japanese studio doing a movie with the starship Enterprise, that is formerly CV-6 U.S.S. Enterprise that used to serve in World War II.
I say, skip Uchuu Senkan Yamato and do its clone instead, Chou Jikuu Yousai Macross. That way you get BOTH Yamato and Gundam in the same package, plus Transformers as a bonus.

What are your thoughts on Eddie Bravo's No gi Martial Arts Grappling system and 10th Planet over in San Fran
Eddie has written books and has his own Brazilian Jujitsu school over in Hollywood called 10th Planet. He also has one of his top students heading an alternate 10th Planet school in the San Fransisco area. I would love to hear comments and thoughts on Eddies books and his No-Gi grappling system. I would love to hear from Bjj Black belts who have read his books. Any comments that denounce him or his system would be especially interesting to me though I am highly interested to the point where I'm ready to move out to San Fran and stay with my Brother. If you want to learn the rubber guard I would say go with 10th planent. The future of BJJ in MMA is going to be heavy use of the RG. If you doubt it take a look at Dustin Hazelet and Shinya Aoki. These guys epitomize the effective use of RG and they prove that it can be supremely effective in MMA. If you don't care about the RG then I'm sure you could find alternative schools that teach no-gi grappling. I'm not a BJJ black belt, but I have read some of his stuff and watched a lot of MMA fighters use things like rubber guard and its variants. While Eddie undoubtedly is a talented grappler (or was), the fact of the matter is that he hasn't trained any phenomenal grapplers who dominate BJJ competitions, which calls the efficiency of his ideas into question. While fighters like Nick Diaz and Shinya Aoki have used rubber guard to great success in MMA, it's really unclear as to whether it's because of the strength of the position or their own grappling skill. Plus, mission control puts a lot of stress on your knee. Also, that guy loves marijuana way too much. His long rants were easily the worst parts of the book.
Regardless, I still do hear good things about 10th Planet, and I would definitely suggest attending a class or two to see how you like it.

Will be in Vegas late august with some friends. we plan to do a lot and are only intown for 3 days. while coming from the airport we want to stop by a liqour store to pick up some hard liquors and some mix. where are the closest locations are from the airport to planet hollywood. an approx address or link to the stores location would be great.Where are the liquor stores?

It's a little hard to advise without knowing your age, what you are looking for, etc.
I will say that Venetian is one of my favorite hotels. It's got a great location near the center of the strip, and all the rooms are suites. There are some great shows and restaurants in and around Venetian, and also good shopping. There is also a great club there - Tao.
But Aria is brand new and beautiful, so it might be worth checking out. Planet Hollywood is pretty nice, and is a good party hotel with a young crowd, probably the best on the strip. The other big party places - Hard Rock and Palms - are both off strip.I need help choosing a hotel in Las Vegas.?
Those are actually some great choices.
The Aria is modern day marvel. Their rooms are Smart rooms. That means that the room programs to fit your need while you're their. It actually talks to you! lol
The Venetian is one of the more luxurious hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Its become a popular destination for many and is perfect for a couples vacation.
Planet Hollywood really caters to a younger crowd. Especially in the Summertime when thier awesome pool area opens up. The parties they have are not to miss!
I will give a link to all three that has information on all that each hotel offers.
I've just returned from a week in Las Vegas and stayed at the Planet Hollywood. To say it is huge is an understatement. It has the V Theatre, a 150-shop shopping mall and 70 restaurants, and of course a huge casino. I don't think it is important where you stay because you will be eating out (whether it's in your hotel or another) and will be wandering in and out of hotels just to have a look at the magnificence of them all! But, the Planet Hollywood is convenient as it is right in the middle of the Strip. We also had a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains - brilliant.
Save your legs and take the Deuce bus or the Ace bus which go backwards and forwards up and down the Strip all day. They even take you all the way to Fremont Street (another "must do"). $3 for 2 hours, or $7 for 24 hours. Ticket machines are at each stop.

Aria is part of the new City Center with a huge casino. Planet Hollywood is a small nice casino. Venetian, my pick, is fantastic with large rooms and very open large casino. Venetiain is connected to Palazzo, across the street from Treasure Island and Mirage and Wynn %26amp; Encore. Pick the one with the best room deal since you won't spend that much time in the room.
I love the venetian and it is in the middle of the strip so an easy walk to all the other hotels. Aria is the newest and I have olny walked through it, but it looked really nice, it is more on one end though so if you are going to be walker it may be a bit of a trek.I need help choosing a hotel in Las Vegas.?

It's a little hard to advise without knowing your age, what you are looking for, etc.
I will say that Venetian is one of my favorite hotels. It's got a great location near the center of the strip, and all the rooms are suites. There are some great shows and restaurants in and around Venetian, and also good shopping. There is also a great club there - Tao.
But Aria is brand new and beautiful, so it might be worth checking out. Planet Hollywood is pretty nice, and is a good party hotel with a young crowd, probably the best on the strip. The other big party places - Hard Rock and Palms - are both off strip.I need help choosing a hotel in Las Vegas.?

The Aria is modern day marvel. Their rooms are Smart rooms. That means that the room programs to fit your need while you're their. It actually talks to you! lol
The Venetian is one of the more luxurious hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Its become a popular destination for many and is perfect for a couples vacation.
Planet Hollywood really caters to a younger crowd. Especially in the Summertime when thier awesome pool area opens up. The parties they have are not to miss!

I've just returned from a week in Las Vegas and stayed at the Planet Hollywood. To say it is huge is an understatement. It has the V Theatre, a 150-shop shopping mall and 70 restaurants, and of course a huge casino. I don't think it is important where you stay because you will be eating out (whether it's in your hotel or another) and will be wandering in and out of hotels just to have a look at the magnificence of them all! But, the Planet Hollywood is convenient as it is right in the middle of the Strip. We also had a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains - brilliant.
Save your legs and take the Deuce bus or the Ace bus which go backwards and forwards up and down the Strip all day. They even take you all the way to Fremont Street (another "must do"). $3 for 2 hours, or $7 for 24 hours. Ticket machines are at each stop.

How to get Comps?
Im planning on staying at the Planet Hollywood and im just wondering how much you have to spend in the casino or how long you have to play in order to get comps.

I'm a dealer in a casino.
First off, you need to get "rated" which means you need to apply for (if you don't already have one) the casino's "player's card". They go by different names but basically it's a free card that puts you in their database and allows you to quality for comps. Sometimes they'll make up these cards for you right at the table, but more likely you go to a center or booth on the gaming floor and provide valid ID and they issue you a card.
For table play (blackjack, etc.):
Most casinos rate your play based on one or all of the following:
1. average bet;
2. your buy-ins (how much money you're forking over);
3. your play time (amount of time at the table).
Each casino is different as far as how much of the above they required, but that is what they base your credits/points on.
If you're a slot player, you'll probably earn your points/comps faster. As slot play generates the majority of the money that a casino makes, the casino usually is more generous with these comps. Just remember to insert your card everytime you're at a machine.

Spend lots and lots of money to get a very small token especially on the strip. Locals get better comps at casinos well off the strip geared for locals. Amazing what we get for just a little play. On the strip you can spends thousands and maybe get a key chain or something. Best way to get comped is to win big ... then they want you to stay with them so you will put their money back into their machines. Anyone can loose ... the town was built from loosers money ... it's the ones that win are the ones they want back.
ON any of the nicer STrip hotels they will not rat you at the tables if you are playing less than $25 per hand though they may have changed that as its slowing a bit, I think at MGM 4 hours at $25 got you a meal ts notlike the good old days where $10 a hand for 2 hours a day paid your room if you were clever. Idont know anything about the PH slot club I am afraid and you will only be able to use your comps against your room if you have booked it direct i.e. not through Experdia, price line etc.
The MGM Players club will give you somthing like 1c for every $1 played you can use this in multiples of $5 as bonus slot play not as comps.
Rule number 1 do not change your play either time, stake or game to get comps this is what the casino wants you do, remeber they only comp a percnetage of what you should lose.

Edit: As per annual salaries, the highest paid CEO, on Forbes, is $84M per year. One actor, for example Will Smith, makes $100M per year. No CEOs make "billions" although if they invest and use their money wisely, I'm sure they can become that way. Just as those in Hollywood do.

I rarely feel cheated after a movie I want to see and movies are one of the few exports that the United States has to offer these days. As far as sports stars go, have you ever played sports? I already do protest by never going to a movie, concert or watching TV. I have never been to a ball game other than the ones my children participate in. I rarely feel cheated after a movie I want to see and movies are one of the few exports that the United States has to offer these days. As far as sports stars go, have you ever played sports? I already do protest by never going to a movie, concert or watching TV. I have never been to a ball game other than the ones my children participate in. My friend's 18th birthday is coming up and I am planning to take her to the city for the day. I would like to have lunch at a fun place like Planet Hollywood but besides that, I have no clue of what to do. Can you suggest me something fun? I used to live in NYC for a short time as an intern. There are so many things to do in NYC that it's hard to narrow it down. I would skip Planet Hollywood if I were you. They don't have the best food. If you want to try a fun chain restaurant, I'd go to the ESPN zone in Times Square. Not necessarily a great idea for a fun girls lunch you say? I beg to differ, being a gal myself. The restaurant is on the second floor and has a view of Times Square. Very cool. They have pretty good food, and excellent desserts. My favorite is the the half baked cookie with ice cream. Delicious! Plus, it is a great place to meet single guys! I would definitely go and see a show as well while you are already in Times Square. There are so many amazing shows to see. Very fun. But if you want to try something new and a bit more swank, I'd go to a smaller cafe style restaurant in Little Italy or in Soho. The best shopping is in Soho, so why not eat there too? My favorite thing to do while in NYC was to ride the subway to Brooklyn and walk over the Brooklyn bridge. It is best to do this at sunset. You will get views of the NYC skyline that are breathtaking. I did this with everyone who came to visit me and they too thought it was the best free thing to do in the city. The other great free thing to do in NYC is to ride the ferry to Staten Island. You will get a free ride to see the Statue of Liberty as well as a great view of the NY skyline too. Going at sunset is again best. Bundle up and go outside on deck to view the amazing views. For delicious cake, why not go to some of the famous cupcake shops in the city? These are delicious cakes! You could do a cupcake tour and visit all of the cupcake shops in the city. There are so many good ones to try. Here are a few: Mongolia Bakery, Tribeca Treats, Buttercup Bake Shop. I've narrowed it down to Planet Hollywood, Bellagio, or Thehotel at Mandalay? Which of these would be best? ThanksFirst trip to vegas, what should I do/where to stay?
Bellagio is REAL nice. We had a ton of fun when we went. I will warn you about one thing... All down the strip are "sales people" wanting to give you free tickets to stuff if you attend their timeshare seminar. It was the worst 4 hours of my life. Do NOT do it. Buy tickets to one of the shows. All of them are terrific. The Mirage has a nice nightclub inside of it. We got to see Shaq so that was fun. At the Venetian there is a wax museum, go check it out it's really cool. We rode the bus up and down the strip. It was actually cheaper and easier than a cab. You'll have a great time. Just remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. lolsubway application

MGM and Planet Hollywood are both nice choices. MGM maybe a little nicer but Planet Holleywood is more centrally located in the middle of the Strip. You will be happy with either one.

Find out exactly what you are getting into. New Years Eve in Times Square is very over rated in my opinion. To get a decent spot, you need to arrive early. Once you are there, you can not leave. If you do, you will not get back in. No bags, no bathrooms, no food no beverage.

We added on dinner vouchers to our broadway tickets and thought we'd go there, but I've been reading some very bad reviews on line and wondered what others thought? Our other choices would be Planet Hollywood, Center Stage Cafe, and some Itlaian places, but due to our bus schedule we have to eat after the show, so it limits us.Has anyone eaten at Broadway Joes in NY and was it good?

Order an empanada to start, and get the pastel de choclo and a pisco sour to drink.....you will absolutely love it!!!!

Constantly changing hotels is madness. You will waste too much time. Pick one hotel and stay there. I do not see why attending a show means you have to stay at that hotel. You have a car, so you can stay literally anywhere. The Palms is not on the Strip. You would be much better off Staying on the Strip. There is so much to see and you have so little time. Why in the world would you want to keep packing and checking in and out repeatedly?
If I were you, I would look into staying at the cheapest Casino hotel on the Strip but staying in a suite. For the price of a regular hotel room all five of you could stay together comfortably. Most hotels only allow 4 in a room.

I live here, so I haven't spent the night in any of them..but I've heard lots about them.
Trump Tower and the Palms are probably the two nicest of all your choices, but I don't think any of your hotel choices are considered sketchy hotels. lol
It's also nice that you'll have a car, because the Palms isn't directly "on" the Strip. It's a block or two off, along with the Rio.
The Pearl concert theater, where Dane Cook will be, is a really nice venue; I recently saw Jason Mraz there.

I definitely suggest checking out any of the Cirque de Soleil shows because they are all amazing. Make sure to go on a Gondola ride and check out the Grand Canal Shoppe (not to mention the amazing ceiling show!) at the Venetian. Obviously Circus Circus to win a couple of stuffed prizes and for their hourly performances because no one is ever too old to go there. There is a water fountain show outside the Bellagio AND at Ceasars. There is an amazing lion habitat at MGM Grand and a wildlife habitat at the Flamingo that are a must.

cirque du soleil is worth checking out. that show is amazing!!
Trump was a okay hotel, the location isn't that good and there is only valet parking which takes a long time when you want to get your car.
Mandalay bay is a good hotel, the food is really good and the rooms are big

Ideas on what to bring to Disney?
Hi, my girlfriend and I are going to Disney next week and we pretty much have everything planned out as far as what we're doing. The only questions I have is what should I bring to Disney to reduce costs, such as food and drink, and also what are some suggestions on the best places to eat? I've heard about Planet Hollywood, Sci-Fi Dine In, and Tony's. Your thoughts? thanks.|||Bring plenty of snacks and bottled beverages. My boyfriend and I go each summer. We bring bottled water, Gatorade, tea, etc. For snacks we bring Pop Tarts, Pringles, snack bars, etc. Anything in boxes or plastic containers is good because they don't get crushed easily in the process of traveling. And then you can bring these snacks and beverages in a backpack to the parks with you if you'd like.
There's over 150 wonderful dining options on Walt Disney World property. I hope you've already made reservations because you're leaving in a week, and reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance, so it's going to be hard to get reservations for the times you want at this point. * I agree with ratdog - Planet Hollywood isn't anything special. I really do like Tony's Town Square, though. It's one of my favorites. And the "Whispering Pines" restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge he's talking about is called the Whispering Canyon Cafe. And if you're staying at one of the Resorts at Walt Disney World you get a complimentary mini fridge, no fee, so you can keep your beverages cold.
And secret~stranger is incorrect. There are not seven parks. There are four theme parks, two water parks, and Downtown Disney, which is a massive entertainment complex. It doesn't take a whole day to do one park either. Some parks take a whole day or more, like the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but even I, a Walt Disney World Fanatic whose goal is to not leave a single attraction out when I visit the parks, can't spend an entire day at the Disney - MGM Studios. As for Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, it usually doesn't even stay open past 6:00pm. And if you're not going with kids then you should take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours in the evening rather than going to the parks as soon as they open. That's when all the families with young children go, and the parks fill up quickly. Take advantage of the evening Extra Magic Hours when all the families with young children have left. It's very relaxing and enjoyable. The crowds are minimal and you can literally walk right onto most of the attractions. And I don't understand why it matters how many children there are compared to adults. There's actually a lot more adults at Walt Disney World than children. There's plenty of couples and adults. It's the number one vacation destination in the world and one of the top wedding/honeymoon locations.|||yes, i agree on the BOMA resturant at the disney Animal kingdom Lodge. That is if you decide to pick that dining place. If you do try the zebra dome mouse dessert it is to die for. Very GOOOOOODDDDDDDD.
|||I live in Orlando and visit the parks frequently. Recently I had family members stay at Port Orleans (French Quarters). They were charged for a mini fridge. Just an FYI.
|||Pack essentials before you leave for Florida. This includes sunscreen, batteries, film, rain slicker/poncho, etc... they sell these items in the park, but for an arm and a leg cost! You'll want the rain poncho for the water rides if you're going this time of year. They are still fun to go on, but its still chilly and you won't want to be soaking wet and cold all day. If your hotel has a kitchennete, stop by a local grocery store (there is a super Wal Mart in Kissimme on the 192, right by Medieval Times) and load up on cereals, milk, snacks, bottled water, and other food and snack items. Put a bottled water in the bottom of your bag - Disney securty will never look that deep. Then re-fill it throughout the day.

I have heard that Mama Melrose's Italian Rest. at the Disney Studios is excellent, but I've never personally tried it.

Have a great time!|||Planet Hollywood??? Leave it out. It is nothing worth waiting for. Check out the Whispering Pines in the Wilderness Resort (all you can eat). It is great fun. Sci-Fi Dine In is a great place. Cool atmosphere and good food. Try the Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. Also a fun place to eat and good eats! If you catch a character breakfast visit the Crystal Palace. It's a beautiful resturant and its a buffet so there is plenty to eat and enjoy.

disney world is LOTS of walking! there are seven huge parks, and it takes one whole day to get through one park!
just remember to take advantage of the fast pass. which is a ticket with a time slot that you pick up, and then you can return during that time and go directly on the ride.
and go EARLY when the park first opens (at 9 am) so you don't have to wait in line.
i would say 50% of the people there are kids (under 12), 25% are parents, and 20% are grand-parents, and just MAYBE that 5% are teens and young adults.|||you can bring your own waterbottles and then fill them up at the parks water fountains.Also, bring your own rain gear theres is very expensive and bring little snacks you will get hungry. Planet Hollywood is a very good place to eat if you get sick of disney food.

You should still be able to take a backpack in. I know you used to be able to, but things change. You can always pack sandwiches and bottled water, as well as fruit and granola bars and such. Luna bars are good. They're filling, taste good, and are low cal. But definitely bottled water.

* I agree with ratdog - Planet Hollywood isn't anything special. I really do like Tony's Town Square, though. It's one of my favorites. And the "Whispering Pines" restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge he's talking about is called the Whispering Canyon Cafe. And if you're staying at one of the Resorts at Walt Disney World you get a complimentary mini fridge, no fee, so you can keep your beverages cold.
And secret~stranger is incorrect. There are not seven parks. There are four theme parks, two water parks, and Downtown Disney, which is a massive entertainment complex. It doesn't take a whole day to do one park either. Some parks take a whole day or more, like the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but even I, a Walt Disney World Fanatic whose goal is to not leave a single attraction out when I visit the parks, can't spend an entire day at the Disney - MGM Studios. As for Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, it usually doesn't even stay open past 6:00pm. And if you're not going with kids then you should take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours in the evening rather than going to the parks as soon as they open. That's when all the families with young children go, and the parks fill up quickly. Take advantage of the evening Extra Magic Hours when all the families with young children have left. It's very relaxing and enjoyable. The crowds are minimal and you can literally walk right onto most of the attractions. And I don't understand why it matters how many children there are compared to adults. There's actually a lot more adults at Walt Disney World than children. There's plenty of couples and adults. It's the number one vacation destination in the world and one of the top wedding/honeymoon locations.|||yes, i agree on the BOMA resturant at the disney Animal kingdom Lodge. That is if you decide to pick that dining place. If you do try the zebra dome mouse dessert it is to die for. Very GOOOOOODDDDDDDD.

Yes I have. Hollywood is almost completely liberal. They can and do push their views onto the public through films and movies. Did you hear about Elton John stating that Jesus was gay? Guess he has to believe that to justify his lifestyle. We have been receiving programming most all our lives from our TV sets. What use to be taboo or an abomination is now just acceptable. We have been brainwashed into the "tolerable" mentality. Look at what our children are being taught in school and by watching children's programming. "It's ok to have a man mommy and a man daddy". And that is just the tip of the iceberg. People do not realize what their children learning even from a Disney movie.

Yes I have. Hollywood is almost completely liberal. They can and do push their views onto the public through films and movies. Did you hear about Elton John stating that Jesus was gay? Guess he has to believe that to justify his lifestyle. We have been receiving programming most all our lives from our TV sets. What use to be taboo or an abomination is now just acceptable. We have been brainwashed into the "tolerable" mentality. Look at what our children are being taught in school and by watching children's programming. "It's ok to have a man mommy and a man daddy". Most tourists in Vegas these days are dressing like absolute slobs. Wife-beaters and flip-flops :(
If you just wear something nice, you'll already stick out.
For a the Lion King, I would recommend something classy but comfortable. There will be lots of kids and families there, so no need for a cocktail dress.
