How much $cash$ should we take to Las vegas?

Me and my girlfreind are going to vegas to get married in february. We are staying at planet hollywood for 4 nights. Our flight, hotel and rental car are paid for. So how much $ should we bring for us to eat, tip, and have fun. "We want to go out, gamble, go to a show and just have fun". How much $cash$ should we take to Las vegas?
I know it sounds condesending, I'd take every penny you can afford to spend...

You'll need probably 50-100 for each show you want to go to. Dinners are not too bad, but I'd plan on 20 bucks a person. Drinks can be free in the casinos if you are gambling, so you won't need a lot for alcohol.

And for gambling... if you play the big tables, you'll need a lot. IF you just play some 25 cent slots, then 200 bucks will last for a while.

gambling: no more than you can afford to lose. When I go, I plan on $25 per day--that's my limit. I usually go home with about $600 or $700 extra (If I wouldn't get greedy when I'm winning I could probably go home with more. Video poker and the penny slots seem to have the best payouts and I'm either very good or very lucky at Black Jack)

tips for hotel staff: $3-$5 a day for housekeeping (possibly more if you're in a really posh place.

$5 or $10 for staff that helps with luggage checking in and checking out.

Restaurants are really inexpensive--even the pricier restaurants are relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of the country (I've gone on business and stayed for several weeks at a time and found it was much cheaper to eat out at a decent restaurant than it was to grocery shop and prepare my own food. Avoid the chain restaurants--you can get that stuff at home and there is better food to be had for roughly the same price) I usually tip waitstaff 20%.

when you are gambling the drinks are free. I usually tip $2 or $3 per drink.

if you win big and need a security escort to walk to your car then I tip the security guard $100-$200 or 10% whichever is greater.

shows can be expensive. Decent shows can start out at $50 per person. Le Cirque shows are usually $75 to $100 or more per person to start. Try to decide ahead of time what you would like to see and seek out a package deal online or when you get to town grab one of those tourist magazines and look for coupons for the shows you want to see.

my basic rule of thumb:

$3-$5 per day per room for housekeeping (housekeeping doesn't have to clean your room everyday if you're going to be there long term)

$25 per day per person for gambling

$40 per day per person for food (most places have free breakfast or have a restaurant and the food is really very reasonably priced. I'll splurge on the large meal for the day which may be lunch or it may be dinner and eat light the rest of the day)

figure in another $200 for one or two shows per person

maybe another $150 to do a helicopter tour of night time Vegas or a tour of the Grand Canyon (that one is an all day tour and they serve you lunch. You meet the bus at one of it's hotel stops and it's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to the Grand Canyon. You're back in time for dinner)

another $25-$50 for souvieners per person

4 days in Vegas is plenty of time. I start to get bored after day 5 or 6.

Congrats and have fun!
Probably at least a few hundred bucks. Depends on how much you want to spend on your expenses. Also, avoid carrying cash. Use your credit/debit or another form of money. Vegas isn't the safest and it's also very easy to lose your cash. Check with your hotels website for restaurants and also check with the concierge for any coupons or deals they may offer guests. How much $cash$ should we take to Las vegas?
If you want to eat big for 4 nights it could be several $100 easy

if you eat a modest breakfast ($15-20 each) and an okay lunch ($30-50 each) with dinner you are lookin at $700 bucks (with an emergency 100 in case + tip money)

Gambling is a personal matter, idk if u r a gambling addict or novice

but rule of thumb is not to bring so much that you fell bad if you lost it all

so if you make 2 milli a year go ahead and drop a couple grand

but if this is your first time in Vegas (no experience) be prepared not to drop alot of money because however good it may look to drop a ton of cash on a table in front of ur girl it feels worse to watch it all be lost in front of ur girl
Believe it or not, there are things to do in Vegas that don't require a whole lot of money. Those things consist of sight-seeing- typical examples would be the beautiful mountains near the city, Hoover dam (not a lot of money, but almost free), walking around the strip and seeing Fremont Street.at night.

Since you didn't say that you were on a tight budget though, I would plan on spending about $100-150 per day each. That should be plenty for a git of light gambling, taxi fare, meals and maybe one or two shows.

Have a great time!

As a guidel line, the wife and I plan on 200 a day. This is for eating, drinking, gambling, monorail, cabs, and what not. That seems to do us great. We can play penny, nickle, and quater slots here and there, and also get on a 5 dollar table game. Some days we lose the money, and other days we have hit some good wins that keep us going. Over all we spend 7 days each time we go, and we usualy average about 1,000 dollars each that we spent for everything.....
I like to take $500 per day funny money. Then I put meals on credit cards. You should buy show tickets online before you go. Buy them directly from the hotel the show is at. Some ticket websites charge double price. Have fun even when loosing. Since it's your wedding, you should go all out, and have the time of your life.
LOL!

There is no limit on the money you can lose in Las Vegas!

By all means go out, visit shows, go to Grand Canyon, spend your money on real fun.

Yeah, gambling is a lot of fun as long as you don't lose enough to hurt.

I lost around $ 1000 and it was no more fun after that.
holey cow, you would need ALOT. not to mention there are shows you might wanna see there. depending on what show you want to see, some aree pretty expensive. there is mamma mia, cirque du soleil (water and sun show). you would need ALOT!!. i can't say exactly how much but you would need to take alot of money
$125 per day will be fine.

if you want to buy gifts for the friends. little more

live here and you can do fine with that.

However much you're willing to lose
ALL OF IT.
