i myself, have been on the hunt for a good deal on a hotel in vegas in april...
www.vegashotelspecial.com was a link sent to me by my mom. it's got some of the discounted packages being offered by all the major hotels on and off the strip. it's nice, cause it's condensed them into one place, and you're not skipping from site to site to see the deals.
sometimes, sites like expedia have some good sales, but most of the time you'll get better discounts going straight to the hotel/resort yourself.
the bigger discounts come when you book through a vacation service, most major airlines (ie. US Airways) and some of the Vegas resorts (ie. MGM). when booking a flight and hotel together can be where you'll find the really good rates on hotels, and even the shows in the resort as well!
Deal hunting here also, good luck on Planet Hollywood. That place is very expensive. I was shocked. I don't remember the Aladdin being all that nice, they must have done alot of upgrades. Haven't been there yet since the change. We got a room at the MGM for 60 a night. It was double that at PH. For some reason those hotels did not discount their rooms yet. Do not book at this time. The prices will drop. You see April starts the busy season here in Las Vegas .. at least in the past it has. Prices always rose at that time. However, with the economy the prices will drop. Harrahs has already discounted their rooms for April with their prices over half the price of those you mentioned. Plus Harrahs is offering to pay airfare on your return trip if you stay two or three nights at most of their properties. For two nights you get a voucher for $200 and for a three night stay $300. You might want to check into that or give a few weeks for those other three to catch up with the discount pricing.
