Las Vegas Strip: Monte Carlo vs. Planet Hollywood vs. New York New York?

My friends and I have all graduated college and we're looking to take a 5-6 day trip to Vegas this summer. We're looking for an mid-level hotel on right on the strip, but we weren't sure which was best. We're all 22-23 year old frat guys that are looking for a good hotel to party, hang out with girls etc. Obviously a place that attracts a younger crowd and isn't too expensive. So far we're been debating between Monte Carlo, Planet Hollywood, and New York New York. They aren't as expensive as the likes of the Belagio or Venetian, and they're right in the middle of the strip. Choose in this order... Planet Hollywood, NYNY, Monte Carlo. Also look into MGM Grand because it's nicer than the 3 mentioned and there is no resort fee.

Those actually aren't in the middle of the strip, but the locations aren't bad.



Planet Hollywood is a big party hotel, and attracts a young crowd. It's a nice place. NYNY also tends to have a young crowd, and the Coyote Ugly bar is a lot of fun. Monte Carlo is more laid-back than the other two places. It has a great pool area, but the crowd there tends to be a bit older.
Best pick would be NYNY of the three. One reason is that Monte Carlo and PH charge a resort fee that will increase the price of the room over $10 a day that you have to pay when you get here. NYNY only charges a $3 day resort fee. The other reason is NYNY has Coyote Ugly. Monte Carlo will be too boring for you its more older crowd I prefer NYNY by a mile to PH I dont like the feel where as NYNY is great fun and has some good bars I woudl however consider having a look at MGM Grand great bars gerat clubs good location and amazing pool, the pools at NYNY and PH are both poor.

If you want in the middle of the Strip then you need to go with Planet Hollywood. Both the NYNY and Monte Carlo are about a mile south. But in the long run it doesn't matter where you stay since "the action" is everywhere.Las Vegas Strip: Monte Carlo vs. Planet Hollywood vs. New York New York?
